The Moonal Story
Our Story — Rooted in Ritual, Guided by Purpose
Moonal was founded by a Moroccan woman whose daily self-care rituals were shaped by generations of tradition. In Morocco, argan oil was never a trend — it was an essential part of life, used to nourish skin, strengthen hair, and protect against harsh climates.
After moving to the United States, she searched for the same purity she had always known. Instead, she found that many products were diluted, overly processed, or disconnected from the land and communities that make argan oil truly exceptional. Moonal was created to restore that connection.
In southwestern Morocco, the argan tree grows within a rare and protected ecosystem. Moonal partners directly with women-led cooperatives that harvest and extract the oil using traditional methods passed down through generations. These collaborations help support economic independence while preserving cultural heritage and safeguarding the argan forest.
Guided by the Tamazight concept of akal — meaning land — Moonal is committed to responsible sourcing, ingredient integrity, and long-term impact. As part of this commitment, the brand dedicates 10% of quarterly proceeds to initiatives that support women’s empowerment, environmental stewardship, and community-driven programs.
Every bottle reflects more than a beauty ritual.
It represents continuity, authenticity, and care that extends beyond the individual.
